Welcome, Beloved

Yes. That’s. You!

Beloved!

And together with you, I am glad to bask in the security of that word – Beloved – especially as we attempt to find our way amidst the words and messages that compete for the definition of us.

There was a time I could not receive the word Beloved as one that would define me. Maybe that is you right now. I know well the words and messages that have defined me. I suspect you, too, know the words that define you. If I asked you, what words might you say?

We have all heard the phrase “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” However, I think we know the truth about this phrase. Words matter!  Words power their way into the deepest parts of our being. They beckon allegiance. Informing. Influencing. Shaping. Building. Defining.

In fact God showcases the power of words through a book of His words called the Bible.  And in that Book, God references His Son as the “Word of God.” Jesus, the Christ, who was with God and was God, became flesh and dwelt among us! God fully and completely revealed Himself in the culmination of His words in the Word, Jesus Christ. (Gospel of John 1)

Twenty something years ago God began the good work of re-defining me through the power of His Word and His words. These days “my heart is overflowing with a beautiful thought…for I am as full of words as the speediest writer pouring out her story.” (Psalm 45:1) I invite you along with me to joyfully discover the power and beauty of the Bible, God’s Word, aptly read, studied, hidden, written and spoken.

Could we together be:
Word lovers, Word acquirers, Word miners
Word abiders, Word hiders, Word clingers
Word holders, Word sharers, Word declarers

Because God has for us:
A Creative word, A Cleansing word, A Redeeming word, A Healing word
A Freeing word, A Sustaining word, A Strengthening word, A Grounding word
A Transforming word, A Teaching word, An Encouraging word, A Living word

Because God has for us:  A Defining Word that gives shape, identity, meaning, character, scope and form to Himself and to those He has created. “For the Word of God is living and effectual,…reaching unto the division of the soul and spirit…” (Hebrews 4:12)

Join me Beloved ! God has for us a storehouse of deep treasure equal to our deepest need!
